As an independent consultant, I have over 20 years' experience in global sourcing, procurement and supply chain management. I have lived in Sweden, Brazil, China, Slovakia, Singapore and the UK. Areas, business sectors and product groups covered:

AOL Sourcing and Support Services Limited - 2019 - Present Day 

After working in various successful companies over the last 20 years, I decided to offer my expert knowledge in a new independent consultancy role;  working with world class companies I have been instrumental in helping these companies succeed and progress with their own development. With AOL Sourcing and Support Services Limited I can now offer companies my expert knowledge to support all their sourcing and procurement to the highest level.


Rotork Controls Ltd - 2015 - 2018
A FTSE250 company providing actuators and control systems for the oil and gas, water treatment and power sectors (£650M turnover - 55% Controls Division).

Strategic Sourcing Manager (global responsibility) – Controls division (based in UK)

Remit:  A new role within the company, reporting to Divisional Operations Director. Managing an annual spend of £90M+, working closely with GM’s and their teams in the US, Europe and Far East. Sourcing responsibility for 8 sites located in UK, China, India, Germany, Spain, the US and Malaysia. 

Major achievements:

  • Transformed the procurement function from a decentralised site based structure to a global divisional category management structure.
  • Developed the category team and fostered good cooperation between the global operation units and the central team. 
  • Delivered savings of £7.5M over 3 consecutive years.
  • Implemented risk mitigation strategies across the global supply chain (dual source, strategic stock, alternative suppliers etc).



New Store Europe - 2014
A private equity fund owned global supplier of design services,  store fixtures/equipment and retail services (€200M turnover).

Group Tender Costing Manager (based in the UK) 2014 Q2 – 2014 Q4

Remit: A new role within the group, reported to group EVP. I managed international group tenders, responsible for cost and supply chain within the scope of the tenders and responsible for setting up the commercial/costing frame work for standard products for the group. My resources, New Store Europe staff and 100% external supply base.
Major achievements:

  • Implementation of a new costing/estimating team structure.
  • New product introduction, adding to the group portfolio (estimated sales value €7M).
  • Issuing competitive tenders, shortlisting and in final negotiation (projects value €2M). 



Fläkt Woods Group - 2007 - 2014
A Private Equity fund owned global supplier of energy-efficient air solutions operating in both the air climate for buildings and air movement industries (€650M turnover).

Group Sourcing Manager – Motors and control equipment (based in the UK) 2012 - 2014

Remit:  Managed the group annual spend of €60M, reported to a group sourcing committee consisting of CEO/CFO and SVP’s. I worked closely with heads of Business Units (BU’s) and their teams in the US, Europe and Far East. Set strategy, budgets and objectives (including implementation plans).

Major achievements:

  • For motors, delivered annualised material deflation of €1M (2.5%) in 2012 and €1.7M (4.25%) in 2013. Excluding raw material fluctuations.
  • Drove cultural change related to more standard fan design, delivered annualised material deflation of €300k (20%).
  • Negotiated and managed supplier change linked to OEM business worth annualized € 275k (14%) in material deflation.


Head of sourcing UK (based in the UK) - 2010-2014

Remit:  Managed an annualised spend of €45M and part of the UK management team. Took an active part in running the business and reported to VP UK/Ireland. Defined sourcing strategies/initiatives  (Electrical motors, Fabrication, Al die castings, metal sheets/bars, plastics, fixings, transport). 

Major achievements:

  • Created and delivered material deflation programs 2011-13, at an annualised value of, €1.1M, €1.3M, and €1.6M (value engineering, supplier shifts and negotiations). Excluding raw material fluctuations.
  • Headed motor negotiations, delivered annual savings of €200k, improved ITO and payment terms.
  • Negotiated Inventory and Lead Time reduction programmes, created buffer and consignment stock agreements with suppliers worth £800k for the first year. 
  • Implemented change management in 2010 upon joining the UK business unit. Delivering annualised material deflation of €1.2m by changing material deflation programme and team structure.


Head of sourcing Asia (based in Singapore) - 2008-2010Remit: Managed an annualised spend of €30M and a member of the Asia management team and reported to SVP Asia and CPO. Took an active role in running the business and I was responsible for sourcing and cost reduction programmes for BU’s in Australia, China, India, Korea, Middle East and Singapore.
Major achievements:

  • Introduced a new 3rd party/OEM product line into the Asian markets. Estimated sales €1.0M.
  • Established and delivered material deflation plans. Generated annual savings of €1.8M (6%), excluding raw material impact. 
  • Implemented new structures and processes. 


Group Sourcing Manager (based in Sweden) - 2007-2008 

Remit: Collaboratively worked with CPO and BU’s to define sourcing strategy and build a suitable supply base. Developed saving programs, prepared and drove group key negotiations and implementation. Areas of responsibility: transport, outsourcing, smaller machined parts and fixings.

Major achievements:

  • Outsourced silencers (Sweden to Romania) and generated annualised      savings of €66k (20%).
  • Managed UK team in transport negotiations. Annualized savings of      €400k (20%).



Emerson Network Power Energy System - 1998-2007

Emerson Network Power Energy System, a division within Emerson, NYSE listed  1998 - 2007 company with more than 100,000 employees worldwide with $25 billion turnover.

Commodity Manager (based in Slovakia) -  2006-2007

Remit: In addition to below (05- 06) and as all supply chain related activities was moved from Sweden, a new organisation had to be developed. General support and I managed the local sourcing team.
Major achievements:

  • Established a “communication environment” that bridged the gap between the functions.
  • Development of the sourcing team and implementation of new structures/processes.
  • Development of the purchasing team (now also taking responsibility for SRM). 


Commodity Manager (based in China) - 2005-2006

Remit: Contract responsibility for EMS - global supply (outsourced PCBA manufacturing - a cost plus approach, including component inventory liability).  Managed local product support team and responsible for Asia supplier base.
Major achievements:

  • Qualified new suppliers/components, generated savings of 30-50%.
  • Good OTD performance, despite inaccuracy in forecasting and frequent design changes.
  • Implemented value engineering programmes - on time and maintaining a high quality level.


Commodity Manager (based in Sweden) - 1998-2005

Remit: I managed cross-functional and multi-cultural teams, transferred production and supplier base to China and Thailand. Responsible for outsourcing, castings, fabrications, metal sheets, plastic parts, extruded parts, packaging, contract manufacturing and system packaging.
Major achievements:

  • Transferred production from Eastern Europe to Asia within 4 months without jeopardising deliveries and quality. Resulted in savings of more than 20% of €10M business.
  • Successfully set up yearly material cost reduction programmes on unit/systems reducing costs by more than 10 %. 
  • Drove in cooperation with corporate staff a change from a divisional sourcing focus to a group sourcing focus, capitalising on corporate matrix structure including but not limited to economy of scale.
  • Managed e-bids (i.e. reverse auctions); generating savings of 30-40% on components such as die castings, plastic parts, cables, copper parts etc.



Saab Aerospace - 1989-1998

JAS 39 Gripen Fighter Program (based in Sweden) -  1989-1998

Remit: Senior buyer: Contract management including internal and external technical/commercial co-ordinations. I negotiated h/w and s/w development agreements including delivery of complete systems. 

  • Mechanical design: Generated detailed drawings, BOM and assembly/installation drawings. 

Major achievements:

  • Headed cross functional negotiation teams, negotiated complex system solutions. Resulted in savings on average of 15%.
